Museum of Australian Democracy

Frost* Collective designed a new brand for the Museum of Australian Democracy (MOAD) at Old Parliament House, one of Australia's most historically and politically significant buildings. As the environmental creative lead I directed the strategy, design, and implementation of a comprehensive signage and wayfinding system.
My role encompassed creative direction, strategy development, detailed design, and documentation, guiding a multidisciplinary team to craft a signage system that is both highly functional and deeply respectful of the heritage context. Working closely with stakeholders, heritage consultants, and fabricators, I ensured that every element supported intuitive navigation while seamlessly integrating with the building’s historic fabric.
The design response balances clarity and legibility with restraint and refinement, using materiality, scale, and tone to create a cohesive language that complements the architecture of the era while introducing a fresh, contemporary sensibility. The result is a signage system that supports the visitor experience with quiet confidence, reinforcing the cultural significance of the site without overwhelming it.
This project reflects my ongoing commitment to designing with empathy, precision, and a deep respect for place and legacy.
