NUBO Play Centre

During my time as Creative Director Environments at Frost*collective, I was the principal environments designer for both NUBO’s flagship Sydney venue and its second iteration in Chatswood. For the flagship store, my role was to shape the entire environmental experience, from designing all the activities to the graphic and communication overlay, establishing NUBO’s signature brand language of calm, clarity, and curiosity. The design broke new ground in early childhood learning spaces, creating an environment that inspired both children and adults through a balance of play, imagination, and learning.

With the Chatswood iteration, the brief was to retain this clean, calm aesthetic while expanding the offering of experiences and opportunities to play, learn, and interact. Drawing on research into the different ways children play, I translated each mode into a dedicated play space designed to maximise children’s engagement and discovery. I led the design, detailing, and documentation to ensure every element worked seamlessly across both iterations, embedding NUBO’s ethos of creativity, exploration, and purposeful play into the built environment.
